Let’s just use our phones to surf the internet, and call it a date.

It was a gorgeous day and the view of Mt. Shasta was amazing. I simply had to take a picture.

I’m amazed by the wonders of technology these days. Thanks to my Blackberry, I snapped this photo on the road with my while on our way up to Oregon (Ben was driving) and uploaded to Flickr later that afternoon.

Everything is real time. There’s no delay for anything anymore. You’re always at risk of being trumped by the internet. Ben & I constantly have our phones out, surfing the latest news, checking the weather at some remote location, checking email or chatting with a friend.

We’ve been discussing this recently – wondering how far it can go and how much it will change society as a whole. As I speak now, Ben & I are both actively engaged with our laptops – me posting to my blog… him? probably catching up on digg or boing boing.

This clip from Dilbert is a perfect representation of what I mean…
